Local Farm Fresh Foods with Good Eggs Brooklyn

Good Eggs Brooklyn is an online grocer that is a convenient Farm-to-fridge grocery delivery from local farms & food makers. Located in San Francisco, Los Angeles, New Orleans and its newly launched location in the heart of Brooklyn, New York.

I decided to test out this service by choosing a few products that I would love to create holiday inspired recipes with.

The website is very straight forward and easy to navigate, categorizing all food into online grocery “aisles.” Each item is labeled with the source of the product, price, and the next available delivery date. My food arrived at 3 p.m. (in between the time slot of 1 p.m. and 5 p.m. that I chose) and two really kind and courteous delivery guys greeted me.

My order consisted of the following:
• Sweet & Salty Roasted Cashews, Nuts+Nuts
• Drunken Monkey Jam, The Jam Stand
• Maple Bacon, Jacüterie
• Organic Fingerling Purple Sweet Potatoes, Lancaster Farm Fresh Cooperative
• Organic Rainbow Carrots, Myers Produce
• Chicken Chorizo, Brooklyn Cured
• Mutsu Apples, Prospect Hill Orchards
• Whole Chicken, Dickson’s Farmstand Meats
• Austrian Crescent Fingerling Potatoes, Blooming Hill Farm
• Fresh Pressed Apple Cider, Fishkill Farms

All of the perishables I ordered were packaged in “cool bags” filled with ice packs. If I return them, I will not be charged their $4.99 fee.

One of the items I ordered wasn’t available from the farmer/producer so I received an email stating that they would replace it for me with another brand. I wasn’t too happy about that until I received and sampled Red Jacket’s Spiced Apple Cider. It is extremely good and has just the right amount of spice that screams, ‘it’s fall’.

As a thank you for supporting local farmers I received the cutest little Lancaster Farm Fresh Carnival Squash along with a recipe to make a warm fresh soup. The Good Eggs team had no idea I was a chocolate lover and another surprise was my Fine & Raw Chunky Chocolate Truffle Bar, which was not to sweet, decadent, and creamy as well as a cute little side towel that actually matches my kitchen decor.

My overall experience with Good Eggs was… EXCELLENT! I do plan to continue to use their services when I’m cooking at home and cooking for clients because I trust the freshness of the ingredients, farmers and local purveyors that they use.

So, are you ready to know what I plan to make this weekend with my purchase?!

I kept it simple and decided to do prepare the Whole Roasted Chicken from Dickson’s Farmstand with a Chicken Chorizo Mutsu Apple stuffing with a side of roasted Organic Rainbow Carrots, fingerling Purple Sweet Potatoes and Austrian Crescent fingerling potatoes. I will present my dessert in a separate post using the remainder of my bounty from Good Eggs.

Stay tuned for my post with recipes!

  1. This sounds like a great addition to the Brooklyn community. Hopefully, I will get to taste whatever you make lol

    • Yes it is! I'm so excited about it. Watch out of my recipes in the coming week!

  2. Pam Simpson

It sounds really good. I wonder if they deliver to my area

  3. Hey Pam, Good Eggs actually delivers to all of Brooklyn, so if you're there—give it a try!

    • Pam resides in Staten Island Summer. Good Eggs is a strictly Brooklyn service correct?
